‘Just want to say thanks for letting us stay at your lovely house. We had a really great holiday. The house and area were so perfect for us all and gave us the peace and tranquillity we all needed. However we were near enough to Ceret and the coast for some fun days out. Again many thanks on behalf of the Stewart and Seaman families.'
'We would definitely like to use your home again and will recommend it to friends. Had a superb week and loved the area. However did you find such a lovely place?' LF
We really enjoyed the stay in Mas Nialgue. Your Mas was perfect, we explored the surroudings, we did some hikes in Prats de Molló, Canigó, ... It was really nice. You have a great house, thanks! FF New Year 2013

621714 - Secluded Restored Catalan Mas Set In 65 Acres With Private Pool In The Foothills Of The Pyrenees

A large rambling property that easily accommodated our family of ten. Steve, the owner, looked after us personally. He ensured that we had everything we needed, that everything worked, and had lots of suggestions for days out whether to the beach, to nearby towns and villages, or to the amazing mountains. The pool was in beautiful condition, the centre piece of an attractive garden surrounded by trees to the horizon, paths emanating from the house wending their ways through the oak woods. Table tennis was available under cover close to the pool. The house was very well equipped. The kitchen had every device necessary to cater for ten, the shelves were well stocked with basics; TV was a bit limited due to European satellite restrictions but there was a huge library of DVDs, and lots of games. We loved the house and everything associated with it. Steve made us feel very at home. Our only challenge was winkling the children out of the pool. We strongly recommend it and hope we will be able to return soon

Dear Steve,
Just to say what a truly wonderful time our family grouping of 10 had at your house. In no particular order we all were after a restful holiday and so spent much of it by the wonderfully large pool- we have stayed in such family holidays in many properties but none with such a large and well kept pool. The house was incredibly well equipped especially the kitchen which was vital as we all ate together every evening for 2 weeks!! The views of the surrounding forests, the fans in every bedroom and other rooms, constant hot showers and the fact that you mended the washing machine on the day it went wrong meant our stay was truly delightful..We hired bikes to tour the countryside and were very impressed with lovely Ceret.
The final point is that we have been having these large family holidays for 15 years now and yours is the first property we've decided to book again next year.
So thanks so much
Best wishes Colin Hines on behalf of the Hines/Wainwright/ McQueen Clans

A family of 4 with 2 children aged 14 and 8 set off from Kent to the South Of France on a two week adventure to the unknown. We arrive a little weary after a long drive and are greeeted by Steve and Bullet and shown around Mas Nialgue. We were instantly struck by how large the house was and how quiet the surrounding area was. Attention to detail in the house is excellent and we did not want for anything other than to stop the clock and keep absorbing the total peace and tranquility that Mas Nialgue offers. The swimming pool is very large and perfect for cooling off in the heat of the August sun. The diving board was loved by both our boys as were the snorkels and flippers and inflatables that were already at the house. As the sun moved around to the back of the house as the day turned into evening we would enjoy a few games of table tennis and fire up the bbq and open a bottle of wine. The evening would be enjoyed either sitting by the pool or going for a late swim watching the bats fly around and dip down to skim the pool. The area around the house offers stunning scenery and a feeling that you are away from all the stresses and strains of every day life. The mountain roads are breath taking and as we found out at our cost the weather can be changeable and can change very quickly. The local town of Ceret we thought was marvellous, we visited the Saturday market twice where you meet people from all walks of life and marvel at the array of fresh produce and gifts that are on offer. We spent a few evenings in Ceret as well where we enjoyed listening to a live band playing outside the cafe whilst sipping a glass of wine and chatting amongst ourselves and other people on adjoining tables. All in all the wonderfull memories of our 2 week stay at Mas Nialgue will stay with us forever. Steve was the perfect host and was always on hand to answer any questions or advise on places to visit. We are now back in Kent and straight back in to the fast lane of life and look back on our 2 week holiday at Mas Nialgue very fondly and are very grateful to Steve and his lovely dog Bullet for giving us the opportunity to hire his property.

Great house in a wonderful location - enough space for our group of seven to lose one another or gather together for long meals out by the pool. The area is breathtakingly quiet and the pool a blissful relief from the sun of late July. Steve, your restaurant recommendations were spot on - suggest you and your guests also give Ceret's L'Atalier de Fred a try! Thanks again, Gary.

Have just returned from a glorious week at Mas Nailgue. Steve was a superb host and the accommodation was lovely. The location is excellent for exploring the Costa Brava as well as some good walks int he French countryside too. Great to be able to have a dip each day in the pool too.
Will recommend to our friends!

Visited here with the Hughes family...
The two week trip looked something like this: morning running on barely-paved mountain roads; quick bounce off diving board; sofa breakfast in front of BBC news; poolside reading; cool-down swim; quick trip to market for crates of fresh fruit; table-tennis rivalry; shared cooking and bbqing; sundowners on the outdoor terraces; shooting-star spotting and listening out for nocturnal creatures; long, uninterrupted sleeps.
Weather perfect in end July/beg. August.
Nearby town Ceret really characterful and easily accessible from Perpignan airport (1Euro buses).
Loved it!

We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at the Mas Nialgue. The house is great, with everything you could possibly need, and the pool and gardens were perfect for young and old to play and lounge in. It was the perfect location for us to spend time with our family; we have come home with lots of lovely, sunny memories. Thankyou.
