The area is dominated by vineyards producing wines of every colour and variety, from Banyuls, a sweet red wine very similar to port, to the vibrant red Corbieres, and a variety of rosés, to the well known sweet white aperitif Muscat de Rivesaltes (near Perpignan airport!) You will find local producers selling their wines at the side of the road.

There are plenty of opportunities to try and buy wherever you go, and the English speaking Domaine de Treloar offer tours of their vineyard sometimes combined with special events. See here for more info
